Volunteer With MARA
The success of our races relies heavily on the dedication of our volunteers. Each MARA family is required to volunteer for 2 race days. Don't worry—no position is too complex, and no prior experience is necessary! Volunteering is a fun and low-pressure way to get involved, and we truly can't do it without you. To help you choose the best role, we’ve organized positions based on skiing ability. Rest assured, we’ll do our best to match you with a role that fits your skills and ensures your volunteer deposit is fulfilled.
Parent Volunteer Requirements:
Mighty Mite parents are exempt due to chaperoning requirements
MARA hosts 3 ski races during the season, 2 sanctioned Slalom and GS races, and a family fun BBQ during our spring season. MARA relies on the support of our parent community. Each family is asked to volunteer for two race days during the season, or forfeit their $200 deposit, which helps us staff the event in their place. Whether or not your athlete plans to participate, these community wide events require many hands to run smoothly–and we are grateful for your participation!

Volunteer Training For New Parents
January 17 & 18
We will be hosting a highly recommended volunteer training session for all new MARA parents. This will get you familiar with race day operations, role responsibilities, and overall what you can expect while playing the role of both a volunteer and parent on race day.
Attendance is not required, but sign ups for volunteer positions will open after the training dates. We strongly encourage new parents to attend to feel better prepared and confident on race day.
Signing Up To Volunteer
Each race day has 20 roles available. Sign up links for each event open after January 17 & 18 training session. Spots tend to fill quickly, so sign up early to secure the days that best work for your family. Families may complete their volunteer requirements across any of the season's race days.
A Race Day To Consider
All race days offer opportunities to fulfill volunteer requirements, but we especially would like to encourage families to consider our spring Sloan cup. Even if your skier's season has ended, all families are invited back to enjoy our end of season BBQ and watch and/or participate! Skiers can go head-to-head in dual style giant slalom, sporting their fun and wacky gear!
